Selling with Tango Alpha

Before you list your airplane

What goes into a Tango Alpha listing, and what to have ready before we start.

The short list

Logbooks

All of them, including the old books. We scan every page and index the entries, so the times on the listing come from the logbooks. The books for our Bonanza listing came to 47 pages and 150 entries.

If a book is missing, tell us. The listing says what the logbooks cover.

Title and registration

A title search shows any lien of record. Our Cherokee listing carries its result: clear title, search dated 9/3/2026.

A loan on the airplane does not stop a listing. Tell us about it up front. It is paid off at closing, through AIC Title.

Check the expiration date on your registration certificate.

Annual

The listing prints the date of the last annual, and the last pitot-static and transponder checks.

An airplane out of annual can still be listed. It goes up as a project, and it needs a ferry permit to move.

Buyers bring their own inspector for the pre-buy.

Damage history

We check FAA and NTSB records on every tail. The listing carries one line: Damage History, then the facts or None. From the Bonanza listing:

Damage History: Gear-up landing, December 2019. Repaired and returned to service, documented in the logbooks.

If you know of an event the records don't show, tell us. It goes on the same line. The asking price already accounts for it.

Major repairs and alterations

We pull the airplane's Form 337 file from the FAA. The Bonanza's holds 11 forms, from 1960 to 2020.

Keep the STC paperwork and the flight manual supplements together, with the airplane.

Weight and balance

The listing prints empty weight and useful load from the current weight and balance. If equipment has changed since the last one, make sure the record shows it.

Equipment and avionics

A list of what is installed: radios, autopilot, ADS-B, engine monitor, mods. Note anything inoperative.

Photos

A walk-around, the cabin and the panel, after a wash and detail. We correct color and crop. The background stays as it is.

The airplane stays where you keep it. The listing names the airport.

What happens next

Send the tail number. We pull the FAA record, run comparable sales and damage history, and send what we think it will bring and how we'd list it, usually within a business day.

Buyers on our list see the listing first, before it goes to Trade-A-Plane. Every deal closes through AIC Title escrow, fee split 50/50 buyer and seller.
