Selling with Tango Alpha
From offer to closing
What happens between a buyer's offer and the money landing in your account.
The short version
- Every reasonable offer comes to you. You decide.
- A written purchase agreement for your airplane
- The buyer's deposit goes to AIC Title escrow, not to us
- The buyer's pre-buy, at the buyer's expense
- Money and paperwork close through AIC Title
Offers
We bring you every reasonable offer, quickly. You accept it, counter it or turn it down. The price is yours to set and yours to move.
The purchase agreement
Once you and the buyer agree on a price, we write the agreement for that airplane: the price, the deposit, where the pre-buy happens, and when and where the airplane is delivered. You both sign it.
Deposit and escrow
An escrow account opens at AIC Title. The buyer's deposit goes there, not to us and not to you. It counts toward the price.
Escrow and title fees are split 50/50, buyer and seller.
The pre-buy
The buyer picks the mechanic and pays for the inspection. It happens at the airport named in the agreement. You make the airplane and its logbooks available.
After the pre-buy
If the inspection turns up problems, the buyer tells you what they found. You decide what to do about it.
Title
AIC Title searches the FAA record for liens. A loan on the airplane does not stop the sale. It is paid off at closing, out of the sale money.
Closing
The buyer sends the balance to escrow. You sign the bill of sale. The buyer signs the application to register the airplane. Both go through AIC Title, and AIC Title pays out: any loan first, then you.
Delivery
The airplane and its logbooks change hands once the buyer has paid in full.
If the buyer needs it flown somewhere, we help arrange it.
